This experimental “collaboration” is a minimalist interpretation of the design and palette of the home towns of each artist, each in their own unique and gorgeous style, after mutual visits to both places. By nature, both artists are thoughtful observers of the essence behind the urban landscape, Lu Xinjian reinterpreting the shape and form of the layout, and adding the energy of the place with his choice of colour. Fernando Bordoni takes elements of the colour palette of a particular city, in this case Shanghai, and places these colours in the form of dots against a richly toned base. Both artists are highly regarded in their respective regions of the world.
