马克•斯坦丁（Marc Standing）1976年在津巴布韦出生，1999年在南非大学获得艺术学士（荣誉）学位，现常住英国伦敦。他的标志性的绘画的发展经历了复杂的演变过程，由与生俱来的创作冲动作画，进而传达对个人身份的探索的不安感，这种不安情绪体现了一个群体的复杂的意识形态——即出生于殖民主义环境，又脱离该环境的人们对自我身份的追寻。
马克•斯坦丁（Marc Standing）近期创作的作品，丰富的色彩和奇异的图像重叠混合，以怪诞而宁静的画面，探索明与暗之间、愉悦与烦躁之间、归属感与疏离空虚感之间的紧张情绪。
他的作品在澳大利亚频繁展出，多次荣获澳大利亚著名艺术奖项，以及入围亚洲杰出艺术奖（ Sovereign Asian Art Prize ），并被澳大利亚艺术银行永久收藏。他的作品也多次在纽约、伦敦、荷兰、香港、南非和津巴布韦展出。
